Planning Officer (Japanese Language Education)

This job posting is for a full-time Planning Officer (Japanese Language Education) position
for a period of two (2) years, renewable up to four (4) years. This position is responsible for
the following tasks at the Japan Foundation, Toronto.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Planning, organizing, supporting, coordinating and advising on Japanese-Language
Education events and programs organized by the Japan Foundation, Toronto-Conducting and reporting Japanese-Language Education surveys
-Japanese-Language Education advocacy activities
-Organizing Japanese-Language courses
-Planning and implementing training programs, workshops, and seminars for
Japanese-Language teachers
-Consulting with teachers on pedagogy, course design, creation of teaching materials, and
visiting guidance
-Supporting the creation of networks between teachers
-Participating in and giving presentations at conferences related to Japanese-Language
Education
-Organizing and supporting Japanese-Language Education-related events
-Supporting other events organized by the Japan Foundation, Toronto
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
-Superior Japanese (equivalent or higher than Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level
1) and English-language skills (oral and written)
-B.A or M.A. related to Japanese-language education area
-More than 5 years experience (excluding private tutoring) teaching Japanese or working
as administrative officer in Japanese language educational institution
-Experience developing Japanese language curriculum and course designs
-Able to go on research trips within Canada
