Elementary Course: Japanese Together 2

» Skip to Registration & Fee Info

Japanese Together 2 is an elementary course for people who have little to no experience studying Japanese, and will cover the first half of the A2 level of the JF Standard. During this course students will work towards the following goals:

  • Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. basic personal preference, shopping, point of interest in local area, community involvement, etc.)
  • Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
  • Can describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment and mattes in areas of immediate need.

The Can-do Check and Nihongo Check from the JF Standard used in the Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture textbooks allow the learners to continually measure their progress and keep a record of what they are able to do in Japanese. This approach to learning helps to assess ability and set up clear goals, which further leads to effective learning.

Textbooks

Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture is a brand new textbook designed by the Japan Foundation specifically for adult learners. Characterized by being in full colour and filled with both pictures and images, Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture invites learners to learn not only Japanese, but also Japanese culture alongside the language. Featuring a cast of multicultural characters interacting in Japanese, we are sure you will enjoy learning with this textbook.

Japanese Together 2 uses the Elementary 1 A2 Katsudoo (Coursebook for communicative language activities) & Elementary 1 A2 Rikai (Coursebook for communicative language competences) textbooks. Both textbooks are included with the course fee. Each term in Japanese Together will cover one third of the textbooks, and by completing all three terms you will finish the textbooks.

Ready to support your learning!

For extra learning outside of the classroom Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture features a support website, MARUGOTO Plus, which follows along with the textbooks. It contains skits and practice exercises, and is a great way to compliment your learning!
