The Japan Foundation is offering a 2-day Katakana through Manga class
to high school students who are interested in Japanese Language and Japanese
Culture. Students will have the chance to access an extensive collection
of books and audio-visual materials, including Manga in both Japanese and
English, in The Japan Foundation, Toronto Library.
Dates:
Monday, August 20th, and Wednesday, August 22nd, 2012 (2 days) 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Doors open at 5:00pm for textbook distribution, and tour of the library

Class size:
15-20 students
Eligibility:
1. Little or no previous knowledge of Japanese;
2. Between grades 9 and 12 or ages of 14 and 19;
3. Can participate on both days
Textbook:
Participants will be requested to purchase a textbook for use during the
classes, at a cost of around $10.
The textbook is free of charge this time!
Participation Agreement:
During the classes, participants must agree to the following conditions.
1. To follow the curriculum of the classes.
2. To give permission for the recording of the participant’s image for JFT
research, report and promotion purposes only.
