Online Workshop for Japanese Language Teachers 5
Incorporating General Knowledge of Japan into Lesson Plans

Incorporating general knowledge about Japan, Japanese people, and general common knowledge in Japanese society into the lessons doesn’t simply introduce information, but also encourages learners to research, think, connect with themselves, express their opinions in discussions, and propose problem-solving ideas. In this way it can be connected to various activities. Using “TOKYO 2020 (Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics)” as a theme, in this workshop participants in groups will create lesson plans at the beginner to intermediate level, and have opportunities to think about the steps and perspectives needed to design lessons that incorporate general knowledge about Japan.
