Registration for our October 2021 courses is now open!
JFT Online Teacher-Support Japanese Language Courses
Our JFT Online Teacher-Support Japanese Language Courses are for learners who would like to primarily study by themselves, but have the support of an instructor and their peers. Students will have an online meeting three times a term to converse in Japanese and practice what they have learned with their classmates and instructor, and at the end of each term will be evaluated on what they have learned. During the rest of the term, students will study and complete assignments on their own using the Japan Foundation’s FREE online e-learning resources.
*If you are looking for a more structured class that meets once a week please check out our JFT Online MARUGOTO Japanese Language Courses.

For inquiries about Japanese language classes, please contact us at email@example.com.
Over the course of the three terms (fall, winter, spring) students will cover one level (Starter, Elementary, or Late-Elementary), which would be the same as one level (one year) of our weekly language courses.
For all of our teacher-support courses, class size is limited to 20 students.
JFT Online Teacher-Support Japanese Language Course Fees
Each term (Fall, Winter, Spring) costs $90. (Completing the entire course from September to July will cost $270.)
*Payment is accepted only on a Term by Term basis.
Once a student has registered in the course and their registration has been confirmed they will be sent a Square invoice (please refer to the registration process below). A student’s position in the course is only confirmed once full payment has been received.
There is no textbook required for this course. Instead, students are encouraged to create a free account on JF Japanese e-Learning Minato and complete the required courses there. Students are also welcome to study using MARUGOTO Plus or any of the other Japan Foundation online resources. (Please see Course Listing below for more details.)

This course is for people who have little to no experience studying Japanese, and will cover the A1 level of the JF Standard. During this course students will learn hiragana, katakana, kanji, basic greetings, and how to hold short conversations on such topics as self-introductions, favorite foods, holidays, etc.

This course will cover the first half of the A2 level of the JF Standard, and is designed for people who have studied Japanese for 60 hours and can read and write hiragana, katakana, and basic kanji. The course will give you opportunity to practice basic grammar patterns and vocabulary to hold short interactions in Japanese on such topics as your town, foreign languages and culture, and health.

This course will cover the second half of the A2 level of the JF Standard, and is a continuation of our Elementary (A2-1) course. We will cover topics such as eating out, special days, and “a town rich in history and culture.” More basic grammar patterns and vocabulary will be introduced to help you communicate in both spoken and written Japanese.

How to Register
Registration is on a first come first serve basis. The earlier you register the better chance you have of getting a seat! In the event that there is a greater demand than spaces, a waiting list will be made available.
Registration opens around the start of August each year, and remains open as long as spaces are available. To ensure a smooth processing of your application we recommend registering no later than 1 week before the first meeting.
For the 2021-22 school year registration will open at 12:00 pm EDT on Thursday, August 5, 2021.
